Dr. Leila Chahine graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 1996 with academic citations in Periodontology and Pediatric Dentistry. She received the coveted Korman Award for clinical excellence in prosthetics and recognition from the Academy of General Dentistry for her outstanding proficiency in Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Chahine is the past president of the Greater Danbury Dental Society and maintains a private practice in Danbury, Connecticut.
Dr. Chahine practices comprehensive general dentistry where she integrates her broad knowledge of dentistry with sleep medicine. Dr. Chahine devotes a significant part of her practice to the field of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Chahine is one of a select few dentists in the State of Connecticut who is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. She has served as Chair of the Education Committee of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and as a Director At -large on the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Chahine currently serves on the AADSM Annual Meeting Committee. Dr. Chahine sits on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of the Lebanese Dental Association. Dr. Chahine has been an invited speaker on the dental management of sleep apnea to numerous dental numerous national organizations. As an active member of the medical and dental staff at Danbury Hospital, Western Connecticut Health Network, Dr. Chahine works closely with the Hospital’s Pulmonary physicians in managing sleep apnea patients.
“If a patient’s sleep ability is not healthy, the rest of his or her body cannot attain the most favorable health either. I see my job as evaluating the whole patient and trying to create the best dental situation possible to foster optimal health.”
Dr. Chahine has been selected for fellowship in the American College of Dentists. She will be joining a distinguished group of colleagues this coming October, in Atlanta, for a formal induction ceremony.
Dr. Chahine attends several national meetings each year to remain on the cutting edge of innovative dental care. She brings new proven technology to her patients and engages them in the decision-making process regarding their dental care.
